BRIEF UPDATE ON ACADEMIC TRIP TO CAIRO UNIVERSITY IN EGYPT

On the 28th May – 4th – June, 2021 a team lead by the vice chancellor of Dr. John Garang Memorial University of science and Technology visited Cairo University. The Vice chancellor signed a memorandum of Understanding with president of Cairo university in the field of research, education and in training programs of mutual interest. The package of the agreement and its composition includes;

  • Joint workshops and training programs
  • Joint research and development projects
  • Joint education programs
  • Staff exchange
  • Student exchange
  • Scientific consultancy

The vice chancellor and his team acknowledge and have appreciated high reception and well coming accorded to him and his team by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Othman El-khosht, President of Cairo University and the Administration.

The team was taken around to visit almost the Institutions of Cairo University such as the 6th October War Panorama, a museum and memorial to the 1973 October war in Heliopolis, Cairo, the faculty of Nano Technology ( International Branch of Cairo University at 16th of October city), faculty of Economics and political science, Agricultural Research Centre, National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, New Central Library, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Graduate African Studies and Faculty of Statistics.

The team was excited to learn much more about the Institutions of training, education and about the growth of Cairo University in advance technology worth replicating in Dr. JG-MUST.

Moreover, the hospitality accorded to the team by Cairo University, Administration and Egyptian society in Cairo was tremendous and the visit was fruitful and a pleasant one.
